Who can nominate or run for office, and how

Any academic staff member or student who is a member of the academic community of the relevant faculty may be a candidate for the UP Academic Senate. The decisive date is the first day of the election. Each candidate may only run in the group of candidates (students or academic staff) to which they belong.

One or more candidates may be nominated by a member of the academic community (student or academic) of the relevant faculty, either independently or in conjunction with other members.

A written proposal on this proposal form must be submitted to the chair of the election subcommittee by February 19, 2026, inclusive. The written proposal must include, among other things, the candidate's first and last name, titles, year of birth, and workplace; in the case of students, their study programme and the year in which they are enrolled at the faculty at the time of the election; and the consent of the proposed candidate, including their signature. Of course, the date, first and last name, and signature of the proposer must also be included.

Detailed instructions are set out in Article 5 of the Volební řád Akademického senátu Univerzity Palackého v Olomouci (internal regulation UP A-4/2017-ÚZ02, in Czech).
