Long-term Visa for the Purpose of Studies (DV/C)

Where to Apply
Apply in person at a Czech diplomatic mission:
- In your home country or the country that issued your passport
- In a country where you hold long-term or permanent residence and have legally resided for at least 2 years (for EU countries, only at the visa centre in Dresden)
- At any Czech mission if you are a national of a designated country
When to Apply
To submit an application, you must contact the relevant Czech diplomatic mission and schedule an appointment for in-person submission. For a list of all Czech Republic diplomatic missions and their contact details, please visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.
What to Submit
- Application form
- Travel document (personally provided original; do not send your passport)
- Proof of accommodation (provided either by property lessor or Accommodation and Dining Facilities at Palacký University)
- Proof of funds for the residence (finances) or a proof of scholarship (one semester approx. 79 000 CZK, two semesters approx. 116 000 CZK)
- 2 Photographs (35 mm x 45 mm)
- An original of a confirmation of studies or confirmation of enrolment
- Parental consent (if you are under 18 years of age)
- Document similar to an extract from the Penal Register record, issued by the state of which you are a citizen
- Proof of medical insurance (*This document can be provided also after the application is granted. It has to be comprehensive/complex medical insurance for foreigners up to 400 000 euros per one insurance event. We recommend PVZP Insurance Company)
- Consural Fee (2 500 CZK)
Upon request provide also:
- Medical Report
- Document similar to an Extract from the Penal Register Record, issued by other states where you have resided for a total of six months during the three years preceding your application.
Processing Time
The processing time is approximately 60 days. You can check the status of your application using the "Status of My Application" section with the reference number provided during your submission appointment. If your visa is granted, you must collect it at the same diplomatic mission where you submitted your application.

How to Report Arrival
Foreign Police
Upon Arrival in Olomouc, students must notify the relevant authorities after arriving in Olomouc.
If you stay in:
- Private accommodation, you must report your arrival to the Foreign Police in Olomouc within 30 days.
- Dormitory or hotel, the accommodation provider will handle the reporting, so no action is required on your part.
Here's how to report the arrival to the Foreign Police:
- Visit the Foreign Police (Cizinecká policie) in Olomouc and register your arrival.
- Remember to bring your identification documents, such as your personal identification card or passport.
