WHAT'S GOING ON AT UP?

The last management meeting (7 June) discussed the upcoming deadline for staff evaluations, the celebration of 450 years of UP overseas and the issue of open science. Necessary modifications to the low voltage switchboard will cause a reduction in power supply throughout the Envelopa College campus on Saturday, July 15, 2023. The General Svoboda, J.L. Fischer and Bedřich Václavek Residence Halls and the Joint Optics Laboratory and 17 November 50 (the red "VLD" building) Science Faculty buildings will be disconnected between 9:00 am and 12:00 pm. The 17 November and Šmeralova dormitories will have no electricity from 8:00 to 8:30 and from 12:30 to 13:00.

Have you ever been interested in going abroad, but something prevented you or for some reason you didn't even try? Did you go abroad and encounter unexpected problems? On Saturday 17th June another year of the great Olomouc 1/2 marathon will take place. Apart from the opportunity to strengthen the body and race for the Rector's Cup, it traditionally brings the possibility of volunteer cooperation. If you want to experience a great sporting event with a look behind the scenes and get useful contacts and material rewards, sign up via the online form.

The first café in Olomouc joined the long-term project Memory of the Nations Central Moravia. A sticker marking the businesses that contribute to the filming of the memorials from the sale of their products was given to the Coffee Library located in the Palacký University Armoury. The café will sell currant cake, the recipe of which is inspired by the family story of Professor Inge Fialová (in Czech), a prominent figure associated with Palacký University and the Memory of the Nation.

Another big cultural event in Olomouc is on the horizon and Palacký University is at it again. This time we are a partner of the biggest music festival in the streets of the university town. Olomouc (o)žije (in Czech) on Saturday 24th June and among more than 100 artists you will find many students, employees and alumni of UP.

NEW STANDARDS

• Schedule of the academic year 2023/2024 and the schedule of course registration in the STAG Information System in the academic year 2023/2024 – Amendment No. 1

  The amendment to the UP internal standard, effective from 14 June, (in Czech) is intended mainly for UP students, academic staff and other UP employees. It modifies the timetable for the registration of courses in the STAG information system in the academic year 2023/2024 at the CMTF and FF; at the same time, it modifies the timetable for evaluations.

• Statute of the UP Information Technology Commission – Amendment No. 2

  The amendment to the UP internal standard, effective from 20 June, (in Czech) is intended mainly for academic staff and other UP employees. It modifies the composition and leadership of the commission following changes in the number and agenda of vice-rectors in the first quarter of this year and newly establishes the position of vice-chair of the commission, which is entrusted to the bursar.
