Even though summer is in full swing, there's still something going on at the university. There's building, renovating and repairing, rearranging, painting and watering. It's busy where the graduation ceremonies are. During the holidays, the university comes alive with suburban camps and summer schools, which attract people from all over the Czech Republic and the world to Olomouc. WHAT'S GOING ON AT UP?

Necessary modifications to the low voltage switchboard will cause a reduction in power supply throughout the Envelopa College campus on Saturday, July 15, 2023. The General Svoboda, J.L. Fischer and Bedřich Václavek Residence Halls and the Joint Optics Laboratory and 17 November 50 (the red "VLD" building) Science Faculty buildings will be disconnected between 9:00 am and 12:00 pm. The 17 November and Šmeralova dormitories will have no electricity from 8:00 to 8:30 and from 12:30 to 13:00.

LECTURES AND COURSES

The Faculty of Theology of the Cyril and Methodius University is launching a new year-long course within the framework of lifelong learning called Theology Online Course of Interest: the teaching will take the form of video lectures and self-study materials in Moodle. Each course will be complemented by direct instruction in the form of webinars or online consultations with the instructor. The bonus of the course is its flexibility – the participant chooses the subjects/topics to be studied and the number of them according to his/her personal preferences. UP SWAP & SECOND-HAND & RE-USE

Are you missing shelving in your workplace? The UP Library offers a total of 12 discarded shelves (height 203 cm, width 90 cm, depth 43 cm) with 15 internal compartments for transfer. The shelves can be used 1. with the lids of the compartments closed, or 2. with the lids of the compartments retracted, or 3. completely without the lids of the compartments (the lids can be detached and used without, then the compartments are also folder size). NEW STANDARDS

• Guideline on the determination of the level of indirect costs for the purposes of submitting projects under institutional support and under the submission of targeted support projects
  This internal UP standard, effective from 6 July, (in Czech) is intended primarily for UP employees involved in the preparation of project applications and secretaries. It establishes for the next period the percentage of indirect costs of service operations to total costs at the UP level and the method for determining the percentage of indirect costs of service operations to total costs at the UP unit level.

• Schedule of the academic year 2023/2024 and the schedule of course registration in the STAG Information System in the academic year 2023/2024 – Amendment No. 2
  This amendment No. 2 of the UP internal standard, effective from 6 July, (in Czech) is intended mainly for students of the UP Faculty of Arts and students of other UP faculties whose study plan includes courses guaranteed by the UP Faculty of Arts, as well as for academic staff and other UP Faculty of Arts employees, and for all UP students in relation to the change of the date of the start of student evaluations. It adjusts the timetable for the registration of courses in the STAG Information System in the summer semester of AR 2023/2024 at the Faculty of Arts, and then adjusts the date of the start of evaluations in individual semesters of AR 2023/2024.
