For more than a century, International Women's Day has been celebrated around the world – and it is no different in the university world. However, for the first time in history, we are also sending out the UP Newsletter on the same day. We are therefore pleased to join the wishes of Rector Martin Procházka (in Czech) and wish all our female colleagues and students every success, joy and satisfaction.

WHAT'S GOING ON AT UP?

The past connected with the present and the future is the leitmotif of this year's university jubilee. It is also a summary of the content of the latest issue (in Czech) of our university magazine, the Journal, which was published on Tuesday. You can find the paper Journal on the racks in the faculties, in UPoint, in the Armoury (Zbrojnice) or in the Fort Science (Pevnost poznání), or you can browse through its electronic version (in Czech).

Your opinion is important, it will help us to find out if you are satisfied with the working conditions and, most importantly, what direction the university should take as an employer. Please fill in the questionnaire by 26 March at upol.cz/survey.

Work on the amendment of the UP Statute is currently underway. In order to make the UP Statute as satisfactory as possible, we want to receive input from as wide a range of people as possible. Members of the UP academic community and other UP employees are therefore able to submit their responses via an online form. These will then be evaluated, and a substantive plan and a paragraphed text of the UP Statute will be prepared and subjected to the standard legislative process. Principles of the Student Grant Competition at UP – Amendment No. 14

The Bonjour Olomouc festival has a programme for everyone and for every day from 13 to 24 March. Many of the events are free, but you need to reserve a seat or buy a ticket in advance.
