Dear employees,

The period of the most rigid winter at UP does not only mean the period of exams, writing final papers and reports, closing projects and counting taxes. It is also the time when the campaign directed at applicants for university studies reaches its peak. This is why students from all faculties are introducing Olomouc, Palacký University and its study offer to high school students and their parents at the Gaudeamus fair in Prague.

Another UP Open Day is planned for this Saturday – all information is available on the University City (in Czech) website. Do not hesitate to invite your friends who might be interested in studying at UP!

New video introduces UP to the world – EN friendly

Video Olomouc – Cradle of Education shows the beauty of Olomouc, the university and education. It was largely created by members of the Welcome Office and the Department for International Cooperation. It was first presented in New York during the celebration of the 450th anniversary of our university and received positive feedback from all over the world. Watch it for yourself on the University's YouTube channel.

How to gender-sensitive communication?

A fair and equal environment is also reflected in communication. To be truly fair, a university must speak a language that is non-judgmental, non-offensive and inclusive. Anyone seeking to use gender-sensitive language will be helped by the methodology How to Gender Sensitive Communication in an Institution (in Czech), published by the National Gender and Science Focal Point of the Institute of Sociology of the CAS as part of the Communities for Change meetings. The creation of the manual was initiated by members of the Community for Change Hana Galiová from Jan Evangelista Purkyně University and Veronika Fousková from UP.

Collaboration between Aurora universities has brought joint projects and a new study programme

The mobility, funded by the European University Network Aurora, will enable researchers, teachers and other workers to collaborate abroad in the period 2022–2023. Dozens of male and female staff travelled to partner universities and evaluated their experience in an evaluation questionnaire. Read about the results on the Aurora at UP website (in Czech).
