At the last management meeting on Wednesday, 2/28/2024, there was discussion about moving the ID card office to an accessible location. The UPlikace app expands functionality – even for teachers!

The latest version of the UP likace App (in Czech) brings a new feature for students and teachers: you will now find the UP Library module, where you will have an overview of all your borrowed books, upcoming return dates and the possibility of picking up reservations. In addition, you can view the courses taught, the timetable, exam dates, the list of enrolled students or record exam results. Take the THE survey on interdisciplinary scientific research

Times Higher Education (THE), which publishes one of the most respected global university rankings, has launched a short survey on Interdisciplinary Science Research, which aims to map the topic of interdisciplinary research among academics and researchers. The questions cover topics such as home institution support for interdisciplinary scientific research or opinion on the best institutions in this field. The questionnaire should take no more than 5 minutes to complete. The survey will run until the end of May 2024.

Join the University in the Bike to Work (and School) Challenge 2024

Bike, scooter, walk or trot the whole month of May – sustainably and actively. Now is the right time to sign up for the Bike to Work challenge and support your own fitness and the development of infrastructure for cyclists and pedestrians. Thanks to Sustainable University (in Czech), a limited number of free registrations are available for UP students and employees again this year. Challenge participants can use the free shared bikes of university partner nextbike for the whole month, enjoy other benefits and discounts and compete, among other things, in the UP University Battle of Faculties and Units! Safety training for UP employees 

Sign up for safety risk training. You will learn how to protect yourself and those around you against potential hazards. There are still places available for the course with practical training on Thursday 7 March (in Czech), or for the April and May dates for the non-practical option (in Czech).

How can we bring international experience to students, even if they don't go abroad to study? VOLUNTEERING

Help test new video questions for driving schools

The driving test will now include video clips on perception and anticipation of risk in real traffic (in Czech). Experts from the Department of Psychology of the Faculty of Arts of UP are working on them and are now looking for volunteers to test them. If you have a driver's licence with a licence number of. B for at least 3 years and you drive at least occasionally, for example once a week, sign up for a date that suits you (in Czech). You'll learn about your aptitude for safe driving, or which areas you should focus on. You will also get a voucher for a cinema or bookshop.

Memory of Nations is looking for volunteers for its projects

Memory of Nations a – an organization that collects the memories of witnesses of important historical events of the 20th century – is a long-term partner of UP. It is currently seeking volunteers to organize the Run for Memory of Nations, cultural and educational projects and film screenings, and a program at the former Civil Defense shelter (in Czech). It offers free admission to events and the "shelter", entry fees for the run, access to the Fort Science, and most importantly, collaboration on meaningful projects related to 20th century history. Pointa – a new series of author talks introducing books by Olomouc academics

Every good book has a punchline. Professional and popular science books not excluded. That is why UP Publishing and UPoint have decided to launch a new series of informal author talks (in Czech) with this title. Pointa will present Olomouc academics and women academics and their interesting works in all kinds of fields at UPoint on Horní náměstí. The premiere will be given on 7 March at 5 pm by Michal Sýkora and Luboš Ptáček from the Department of Theatre and Film Studies of the Faculty of Arts of UP on an unconventional film theme – "building" a socialist detective story. Discussion with writer Aneta Kollerová Mašková: about her work as a writer and her love for books 

There are many professions we don't know much about, and writer is one of them. How does one even get into such a profession? How long does it take to write a novel? And how much does a writer usually earn by writing a book? The UP Library invites you to a discussion with Aneta Kollerová Mašková, a writer and a graduate of UP (in Czech), author of the book Přes práh. The discussion will take place on Wednesday, March 13th at 17:00 in the Zmijozel clubroom in the Armoury/Zbrojnice.

10 days of French language, culture and gastronomy in Olomouc

Festival Bonjour Olomouc, organized by the French Centre of UP, is going to enthuse the city of Olomouc with French atmosphere for the fifth time. From 12 March, it will offer more than twenty interesting events over ten days. In the newly renovated hall of the Museum of Art Olomouc Central, it will be opened by a talk show with Petr Janyška, former ambassador to France. There will also be lectures, music, a baking workshop and a French menu by chefs Roman Paulus and Petr Stoklasek. Check out the full programme! (in Czech)

Celebration of Water Day in Konvikt and on the Josef Jařab waterfront 

Lectures, workshops, guided tours, boat cruises and great music. The celebration of the International Water Day (in Czech), which falls on 22 March, will offer an interesting programme in Olomouc from 19 to 22 March, in which our University is also participating. On Wednesday, AFO will present a preview of the documentary film Water in the Landscape at the Konvikt, followed by a lecture by Assoc. Rulík from the Faculty of Science. Premiere of a documentary about most important Czech Holocaust memorial

Under the auspices of the Post Bellum organization, a partner of the UP, the documentary film Mezi příkopy a valy (Between Trenches and Mounds) was produced, which presents the most important Czech Holocaust memorial – the town of Terezín. It was the last stop before death for a large number of Central European Jews and for almost all Jews from the Czech lands. The screening will take place on 13 March 2024 at 6:00 pm at the Regional Museum in Olomouc, admission is voluntary.

  • Preparation of the UP Annual Report for 2023

    This UP internal standard, effective as of 26 February 2024, (in Czech) affects UP employees who prepare the UP Annual Report for 2023, Vice-Rectors and the Bursar. It regulates the preparation of the UP Annual Activity Report for 2023 and establishes the Framework Outline of the UP Annual Activity Report for 2023.

  • Principles of the Student Grant Competition at UP – Amendment No. 15

    This amendment to the UP internal standard, effective as of 1 March 2024, (in Czech) is intended primarily for students of doctoral or master's degree programmes at UP. It modifies Annex 1 – the list of approved projects in 2024.

  • Schedule for the academic year 2024/2025 and the schedule for enrolment of courses in the STAG Information System in the academic year 2024/2025

    This UP internal standard, effective from 8 March 2024, (in Czech) is intended primarily for UP students, UP academic staff and other UP employees. It sets out the timetable for the academic year 2024/2025, the timetable and the method of registering courses in the STAG information system in the academic year 2024/2025.


    All UP standards, including the ineffective ones, divided by UP units, with the possibility of filtering and searching in them can be found by students and employees of UP after logging in to files.upol.cz.
