Briefly from the UP management meeting

At the management meeting on 12 February, a series of seminars of the UP Project Service for researchers and academic staff was discussed. University of Oxford wants to get inspiration and know-how on how to organise AFOs. UP Endowment Fund announces a call for student projects

Offer your students the opportunity to take advantage of developmental and educational opportunities and financial support for research or artistic-creative projects. The UP Endowment Fund supports artists, creatives, researchers and innovators from the ranks of students in UP's master's and doctoral programmes with up to CZK 200,000. Information on the current UP NF call, which is open until 31 March, is available on the fund's website.

Financial support for final and other research works of UP students focused on sustainability

The Sustainable University offers bachelor's, master's or doctoral students the opportunity to receive a grant of up to CZK 10,000 for their final or other research work related to sustainable development. The thematic inspiration can be the  UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) or the UP Sustainable Development Strategy. Details and the form are on the Sustainable University website.

Take THE survey on interdisciplinary scientific research

Times Higher Education (THE), which publishes one of the most respected global university rankings, has launched a 5-minute survey on Interdisciplinary Science Research. It charts the theme of interdisciplinary research among academics and researchers primarily in the natural sciences, or among those working on interdisciplinary research involving the natural and social sciences, education, psychology, law, economics or clinical and health disciplines. You can fill in the form until the end of May

LECTURES AND COURSES

Seminars with the President of the Grant Agency of the Czech Republic

Do you want to learn more about the competitions that the Grant Agency of the Czech Republic (GA CR) announces? Do you want to know how the evaluation process works or what new things the GA ČR is coming up with this year? These and other topics will be the subject of seminars with the President of the GA CR, Prof. Milan Jirsa (in Czech), which will take place in Prague (28 February) and Brno (5 March) and online. Circular economy and sustainable solutions for business and personal life

What are the current trends in the field of sustainable development, especially in relation to ESG and legislation coming from the European Union? Using the concept of the circular economy (circular economy) and concrete examples from practice, you will find out what sustainable solutions exist not only for business but also for personal life. Exhibition Zavařeniny/Preserves: put your fears in a jar

Do you have a fear, emotion, thought or other monster that won't leave you alone? Have you tried to cook them up? The Office of Student Affairs, in collaboration with the student organization Studium Artium, invites you to the opening of the exhibition "Zavařeniny" on March 19 at 5:00 p.m. in UPoint (in Czech). The works are an outgrowth of a wellbeing workshop focused on strengthening mental hygiene techniques.

Join the fire sports club

Fire attack, tower climb, obstacle course, TFA. If you are no stranger to these concepts, you can join the new University Fire Sports Club Olomouc (in Czech), which offers regular meetings and training sessions for students and employees of UP. The first meeting will take place on Tuesday, March 4, at 5:30 p.m. in room 2.006 at the Faculty of Science of UP, 12 17 November Street, or you can ask Olga Halásová from the Faculty of Science of UP (olga.halasova@upol.cz ) for more information.

NEW STANDARDS

• Schedule of the academic year 2025/2026 and the schedule of course registration in IS STAG in the academic year 2025/2026

  This UP internal standard, effective from 26 February 2025, (in Czech) is intended primarily for UP students, academic staff and other UP employees. It sets out the individual deadlines during the academic year 2025/2026 and the dates for enrolment of courses in IS STAG and the academic year 2025/2026.

  
  All UP standards, including the ineffective ones, divided by UP units, with the possibility of filtering and searching in them can be found by students and employees of UP after logging in to files.upol.cz.

Give new life to old UP calendars 

Do you have last year's wall or desk UP calendars lying around? Give them a second chance with UP Press and the UP Marketing Department and bring them to UPoint or the Bookstore at the Armoury. The University Publishing will then use them in the production of recyclables or in workshops during university events to make them happy once more.
