At the management meeting on 9 April, they talked about the mock evacuation of the FF UP building or about UP's negotiations with the city. Canteens, FreshUPs and UPoint will be closed on Fridays 2 and 9 May

In the canteens, electrical equipment and wiring will be revised, as well as minor repairs and upgrades to the KREDIT ordering system. In the meantime, you can browse and order the UPoint offer on the e-shop.

Go with UP to the June Science Fair of the CAS – involve your workplace

UP will participate in the largest domestic fair presenting and popularizing science and research again this year. The three-day Science Fair, organised by the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic (5-7 June), is visited by 60,000 people every year. The RUP Marketing Department, which organizes the event in cooperation with science popularizer Vendula Lužná, is currently asking departments and workplaces that would like to present themselves at the fair in the form of an interactive stand within the university exposition. In the past years, departments such as the Faculty of Science, the Faculty of Arts, the Fort Science or CATRIN have presented themselves here. More information about the event can be found here. Books for 5 CZK you can see and buy at the Armoury/Zbrojnice

The UP Library has been selling discarded books online for more than a year and a half. From 28 April to 30 May, you will have the opportunity to see the discarded books for yourself at the Central Library in Zbrojnice/Armoury and save some of the books for a symbolic CZK 5. The offer includes subjects such as geography, history, psychology or law, mathematics, zoology or architecture and of course fiction and foreign language literature.

This Easter, the Welcome Office joined forces with ESN Olomouc to bring international students a warm and festive celebration! From decorating traditional Czech eggs to tasting local Easter treats and learning about customs, it was a joyful evening full of laughter, culture, and community. How to get feedback in teaching

How to formulate formative feedback in a way that truly supports learning and leads learners to better outcomes? When, by whom and in what form can feedback be given and what are the conditions for its effectiveness? The How to Feedback in Teaching workshop  take place on Wednesday, April 30 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Mgr. Podnikavá hlava: workshops on pricing and persuasive presentation

Registration for the Entrepreneurial Head (in Czech) competition is in full swing and if you are still hesitating whether to enter your business idea into the competition, we recommend attending practical workshops with experts in the field. On Tuesday, 29 April, there will be a workshop with Hana Pleskačová on pricing and setting a fair price for a product. The second workshop will take place on Wednesday 21 May and the lecturer Vít Špaňhel from ImageLab will guide you through a convincing presentation of a business idea that will leave the best impression. Participation in the workshops is free, but the number of places is limited, don't forget to register (in Czech).

Pathways of plastic waste at UP

How do you sort plastic waste at UP? Are you sure what to throw away where? Answer the 10 questions in the questionnaire that is part of your undergraduate thesis in the Environmental Risks and Climate Change program. Its results will then be used by Sustainable University to help target measures to manage plastic waste more effectively.

Registration for UP Sports Day activities

The UP Sports Day will take place on Wednesday 14 May 2025. The Academic Sports Centre of UP has prepared a rich offer of indoor and outdoor sports, team tournaments and individual disciplines. Registration will open on Thursday, April 24 at 9:00 am. Most of this year's programme of the three-day festival Olomouc Majáles UP  (in Czech) is free, but if you don't want to miss the main music programme at the Armoury on Wednesday 14 May, don't delay and go and get your Maypole tickets at UPoint on Horní náměstí. Fort Science celebrates 10 years and offers free admission

It was 10 years ago during the AFO Festival that the university science centre Fort Science opened to the public. The celebration, with a special program into the night, will take place this Friday and Saturday, April 25-26 (in Czech). Join the celebrations - all UP staff and students will have free admission to the Fortress of Knowledge exhibitions on both days.

Pointa: the AFO phenomenon – 60 years between science, film and passion

The AFO has been shaping the unmistakable atmosphere of Olomouc for sixty years and has long since become an event with international reach and attention. It has been newly mapped out in the distinctive publication Academia Film Olomouc: 60 Years of Popular Science Film (in Czech), which presents interviews, history, essays and an extensive photo album in the form of a design binder. In a special edition of the Pointa series of author talks (in Czech), it will be presented on 24 April at 4 pm at UPoint by the current director of the AFO, Eva Navrátilová, the former director of the AFO and the current vice-dean of the Faculty of Arts at UP, Petr Bilík, and the editor of the book, Jiří Slavík from UP Press.

• Determination of the organisation of fire protection security
  This UP internal standard, effective from 30 April 2025, (in Czech) is addressed to all UP employees. It regulates the organisation of the performance of fire protection duties at UP. It determines the duties and powers of UP employees, the method of keeping fire documentation and other conditions of fire safety.
  
  

  Thematic plan and timetable for staff training and training of fire prevention patrols and fire prevention officers
  This UP internal standard, effective April 30, 2025, (in Czech) is intended for all UP employees. It regulates the organisation, timetable and content of fire protection training at UP, including the training of fire prevention officers and members of fire prevention patrols.

  
  All UP standards, including the ineffective ones, divided by UP units, with the possibility of filtering and searching in them can be found by students and employees of UP after logging in to files.upol.cz.
