The Role of Language Ideology in Language Maintenance - Inner Asia Colloquium

We invite you to an online discussion with Mirshad Ghalip (Indiana University) on the topic of the Uyghur diaspora's fight to preserve their language and culture amidst existential threats. The lecture also aims to foster a much-needed dialogue between the literature on language attitudes and ideologies in the field of language maintenance.

The event is organized by the REMOTE XUAR project: Remote Ethnography of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. Methodology and Research Capacity Building.
