Palacký University is more than an educational institution, it is also an important employer in the Olomouc Region. A good portion of its employees are not academics, scientists, or researchers, but are working as secretarial/economic/support staff and physical labourers. And though their work may often be taken for granted or not noticed at all, it is they who make up UP’s support apparatus.

For this reason, UP Rector Martin Procházka has decided to give awards to workers in these positions: to highlight their extraordinary contributions to their workplaces and the university as a whole, and to thank them for a job well done.

The Special Merit Awards for Non-Academic UP Employees will be given at the pre-holiday gathering of UP employees with the rector.
