There’s no doubt that a safe and confident environment is essential for successful studies and personal growth. We all have the right to feel secure—both on campus and beyond. That’s why we’re introducing MyPwr, an app designed to teach you the principles of physical and psychological self-defense using the Empowerment Self Defense (ESD) method.

With MyPwr, you’ll have access to instructional videos, quizzes, guides, and interactive games that will help you prevent uncomfortable or dangerous situations—or handle them effectively if they arise. You’ll improve your communication skills, learn to say no, and set clear personal boundaries. The app’s creators have also included relaxation and mindfulness activities, supporting both body and mind.

Students from over 20 universities worldwide are already using MyPwr, including those at Charles University in the Czech Republic. A version specifically tailored to the needs of Palacký University was tested last fall by a group of student volunteers. Thanks to their positive feedback, the app is now available to everyone on Google Play and the App Store.

After installing the app, simply select Palacký University from the dropdown menu and create an account using your university email address (name.surnameXX@upol.cz).

We hope MyPwr provides you with valuable knowledge and support. If you ever need additional help, you can also reach out to your faculty ombudspersons or the university counseling services (upol.cz/counselling).
