Ticket inspection
Daily inspections of trams and buses are randomized by inspectors. Be aware that they do not wear any uniform, often looking like regular passengers until the tram pulls away from the stop. They are obliged to prove their identity with a special ID. If you do not have a valid ticket, you will be fined 700 CZK if paid in cash on the spot or within 15 calendar days of the date following the issue of the penalty fare notice, or 1500 CZK later.
If you forget your non-transferable ticket at home, you should explain the situation to the inspector, and they will give you a special note. Take that note to the DPMO cash desk or ticket office within three days, along with your valid ticket of 7 days or longer validity, and your penalty fare drops to just 50 CZK.
To find out more about the ticket inspection, go to the website of Olomouc Public Transport Company.
